What happens when my XBOX 360 is modded?
Your XBOX360 DVD Drive has a software built into it known as Firmware. This firmware is what tells your XBOX to only read certain types of discs. By changing the firmware, your XBOX drive will be able to read XBOX360 and XBOX backups.
Is modding my XBOX illegal?
Because you paid for your XBOX, it belongs to you and you can do with it as you wish. Thus, modding or changing your XBOX is perfectly legal. It does, however, void your warranty from Microsoft (see below). IT IS illegal to copy, burn, or sell games that you do not own, so we do not perform or condone such activity.
What is involved with Drive Replacement and Spoofing?
The XBOX360 unfortunately has the most problems of any video game console ever created. One of these problems is that the disc drive fails and will no longer read your game or DVD discs. You may feel like you need to replace your entire XBOX360, but this is not the case. Your XBOX360's motherboard is registered to a specific DVD Drive which prevents you from simply replacing the DVD Drive. MagicMods is capable of replacing your broken DVD Drive with a BRAND NEW Drive and "spoof" it so that your 360's motherboard thinks it is the original. This service also includes a firmware flash. This does not cure the RRoD (Red Ring of Death).
Is modding my XBOX safe or does it increase chances of RED RING?
When your XBOX gets the red ring of death, it means that the motherboard has overheated and created a hardware failure. Because no changes are made to your motherboard, modding your XBOX does not increase this chance in any way. If anything, the FREE cleaning provided will prevent the chance that your XBOX will red ring. Will modding my XBOX void my warranty?
Every XBOX 360 has a warranty seal to determine whether or not it has been completely opened. Because we need to open the XBOX to gain access to the DVD Drive, the warranty seal is broken, thus VOIDING your warranty.
